Im wanting to go to sheffield, maybe, as its one of my options. Its close to my home town, Leeds, but far enough away aswell if tht makes sense. This might get a bit of a biased opinion but im stuck between the choices of liverpool and sheffield ? what you think ? and i wanna do sociology. at sheffield uni

If anyone's wondering where to go in the city centre during Fresher's Week and so on then I'd recommend the Lounge on West Street, opposite Barclay's bank. I love it in there. The food's good, drink well priced, DJs every night at the weekend and during Freshers Week, the staff are friendly and it's a really nice place :)

Hey! Is anyone going to Sheffield to do Speech Science? Or anyone living in Crewe Flats in Sept? I'm really excited about going and have just been on a recent trip to Ikea, haha! I've seen one or two pics on google of someone's room and it looks lovely - far nicer than my room in catered halls in Newc last year. If anyone has any info or tips on Sheffield/the uni/crewe flats I'd love to get in touch with you.

Sheffield is cool. I've lived here a month now but having been coming all year as my boyfriend lives here. The University campus and things are all close by each other and there's lots of things to do and tonnes of places -take aways, pubs and bars and restaurants do student offers and discounts which is cool. One of the main streets, West Street, near the Uni has lots of pubs and things and is really handy for a night out. Hope that helps.

Liverpool is great :-) Erm how about Sheffield I'm making the switch soon. Is it good/bad? What's the nightlife like? The clubs don't seem to be together as there are in Liverpool.
The people nice?

Hey, I'm going to do Ba graphic design in Sept at SHU (if i manage not to have messed my exams up).. is anyone going to do the same course?
Plus Ive only been to Sheffield twice and that was to just see the uni, so I have absolutely no idea whats there or where anything is lol :) ahh, so if anyone wants to give a hand?? =] id be eternally greatful ^.^

Sheffield is an amazing city to go clubbing in. The Leadmill on a Monday night is the most amazing place and experience to have. 60p for a bottle of strongbow or carlsberg, you can't really go wrong with that. So i'm really happy that Hallam is my insured choice.

Sheffield was the natural choice for me really, half an hour from home so i'm not far away if i need anything but i have my independence, i get extra money cos my college and shu are in some kind of partnership and i'm a blades season ticket holder.
a no brainer!
