Northampton's got a very cosy nightlife, plenty of gigs going on too. If you're into intimate live gigs, try and find a friend who's been to the Labour Club (opp the former Soundhaus Club). Great bands from all over europe play there, and free too.

I am from Northampton but going to luton this year. its a grat town with a good night life. Reflex above Edwards on the drapery can be good fun. the shops are ok but MK is just down the road with a good rail and bus connection so easy to get too.
i second about the comment on the racecourse. avoid after dark at all costs.

If your new to Northampton you need to know some essentials. Girls don't walk across the racecourse park unaccompanied
