Lived in Teesside for 20 years now best place for a night out is Sumo (cornerhouse fridays) and the Empire / Arena pretty much every other day of the week. Southfield and Issacs are the best bars and Nandos the best place to eat!

I live in Middlesbrough at the moment. Sack MIMA its a waste of time ... and i havent even been there.

Wednesday - Onyx
Thursday - Cornerhouse
Saturday - Onyx
If you go out on a friday i recommend Walkabout and on sundays onyx is open but cant say ive been to tell you what its like.

That hosts pictures from various clubs in the area and has the up and coming gigs on it too.
If you're a geekly like me and enjoy Museums, check out the Dorman Museum, its right near Albert Park, which is another nice spot at the top of Linthorpe road. It gives a history of the town but also has other really interesting and more general exhibits about the slave trade, bird species, world artefacts, etc.

I'm from Middlesbrough and would recommend getting yourself down to Mima, take down some bread to the nearby duck pond, or chill out near the fountains. The centre has been massively updated and its a great place to be, especially on a summers day.
Linthorpe road has some great boutiques and resturants. For pubs I'd recommend Southfield road, thats kind of the student strip but you get a good mix of people. The Empire's a decent club and gets some really good gigs as well as the Town Hall.

i'm from middlesbrough and the best piece of advice i can give you is try a parmo...you'll love them and feel like you've been living in middlesbrough your whole life!!

im living in Middlesbrough already but org from North West and I start a Journalism Fda at Teesside Uni in September 2008 but am going to be based at Darlington part of the time. I live fairly close to the Uni campus too. Its pretty cool!

i live just outside of middlesbrough, if your applying to uni there and dont know much all you need to know is tht middlesbrough is not as fancy as some places ut i love it and so will you.

I live just outside of Middlesbrough about 5 mins drive, i love it, great shops, resteraunts cinema ect cant wiat to goto uni !!

middlesboough's a bit mint :D and onceyou know all the good things it completely out weigh's any bad:D and the clubs are a bit mint, there's something for evryone :D xxx

hey i only went up 4 the first time when i went to the open day so did not c much of it. not really fussed wot people say bout it anyway love hearing the good things tho but the way i c it the course is the best 4 me u make the most of the place ur in life is wot u make it sod the surroundings x x x
