anyone else doing early year's teaching at carlisle uni? i have lived in Carlisle all my life and its ok, but im moving to London for a bit before i start at the university of cumbria to do teacher training.

I've applied to do Physiotherapy at the Uni. Of Cumbria Carlisle Campus (Fusehill Street)
Anyone else doing the same?
Would be useful to get to know people before i go.

How come the university of cumbria isnt listed in the bloody uni's on here? Is it coz its new? It's annoying for me and my friends adding it!

The Lake Districts only two hours away?
Pfft! Admittedly Cumbrian transport is crap at best, it doesn't even take two hours to get to the other side of the county on the slow train!!

Real problem with carlisle at the mo, because of the smoking ban no one seems to go ou anymore, plus a few good bars may have to close due to lack of trade. Thank god for the uni of cumbria is what i say. ps I've still have a place near carlisle, but am going to warwick. sometimes its good to get away ha ha.

thers plenty of clubs and bars! Mood and Terminal are my favourite clubs + theres Liden tree - i think thats closing soon tho, Walkabout, Concreat, Rouge (you can get into terminal through rouge). Good bars are Woodrows - probably the cheapest, the office, the time bar ect. All these are down Botchergate street. Most of them have a student night on tuseday but it can vary, i don't know what day itll be on in september. Also Newcastle is only 45 minutes away on the train and is gud 4 a nite out.

theres good swimming pools and the sands centre has a good gym and puts on performances. Joseph and the thechnicolour dreamcoat is on l8r this month, they have concerts there 2. the Newcastle metro centre is only 45 minutes away by train and the station is very near the city centre.
