Im re-sitting this exam in like a week
i havnt got a clue what to do ! is anyone else doing the same?

hey, I just did 1 hour of it this morning, then we're gonna do the rest over the next week or so... I got really stuck on importing the data because.. for example.. the bidders table, you need to set the biddername (which is the ID) as the primary key but because the bidders have placed bids on more than 1 property, there are duplicates so we can't set that as primary key. Our teacher suggested to put the text file into excel and delete the duplicate bidders and then imported into a bidders table.

Hey all - had 2 21/2 hour sessions on this exam, feelin okay with it at the moment!! Sherratt - best thing to do with duplicates is either to use a 'find duplicates record query', but i'd say import the whole text file (the really long 1) then make a table for the bidders with the userID as the primary key. If you then do an append query to move the raw data to the new table,the duplicates will be removed! Hope that helps, i'm usually not very good at explaining things though!! Good luck everyone, only 5 hours to go for me haha.

Yup i've just tried to get on that thread. Not suprising with the amount of information being given away. ALTHOUGH still don't know how they're supposed to stop us talking bout the exam!!

yh got 2 hours of this exam 2mrw... i got an E in the last one n am so proud lol cos ev1 else got U's.... i got no idea what am doin in this one though... i start making my tables, queries n macros 2mrw morning... gonna be a biatch!

haha yeah skalor i think edexcel blocked it because it was getting warnings cos people were discussing actual questions.

Can anyone suggest some key areas for me to make sure i know how to do? certain queries? normalisation? which areas should i make sure to look at to get me through?

There's only me and this other guy doing IT and our teachers are new and not really knowledge-able... The pre-release says that it wants me to have a log-on system and then that user can make bids which then replaces the top 'n' number of bids of that particular design?! This I've never heard of before.. and we start on monday. Having touched a bit on the past-paper from a year ago (maybe 2 years). This paper seems to be a completely different exam altogether! My teachers considering scripting??
- sherratt: You mentioned excel, in our exams (and most likely yours) you only get access to Access and Word.

ellllllloooo ive done 4 hours of this exam...its not too pleasent. Got an E last year so am hoping for something a tad better. Managed to make the login and have just started to start the bidding form...which is confusing me :S

we r doin the Green Bay exam 22 and have completed 7 hrs and we r stuck on how to get bids to add to the database completed log in can any1 help???? activity 3?
