Everyone's sending their apps off now. And reality is kind of setting in. I know there's been loads of people worrying about uni and offers at 6th form.

Just wondering if anyone else was worried about anything? Or if you're all cool as cucumbers. xD

I'm worried about not getting accepted too XD.

Also if I do get accepted - Not getting a place in halls.

and after reading another thread - Gaining weight.

i sat here looking at all your posts, looking at the dates, and thinking "WTF? arent they supposed to be in uni?". then i remembered that this isnt exclusive to people in my year lol.

ive just started uni, and can ease a few of those worrys, tho having been there they will stay with you for a while!

basically, my predicted grades were a B and a D. my 3rd a level was made up of two as levels so uni's dont look at that unless u meet some requirement or other from ur A2 predictions. i still got accepted into a uni which is really quite good for the subject i was doing (psychology at preston). even if u dont get accepted by any uni, and i would honestly rate those chances at a reeally low percentage (not going to say one coz then u r all going to say "but what if that 0.1% is me!") unless u have been silly and applied at uni's wanting WAAAAYYY more than ur predicted grades. a little higher is good, but not too much higher. besides, therz always ucas extra (u shud get xplained what that is by ur tutors, i cnt be botherd to do it now)

a lot of places at halls often go after results day, as people dont want to do what may end up being unnecessary paperwork, not just for fear of not making it, but u can change ur mind at the last minute, and there usually isnt a problem even if u do that. i commute myself, but i know lots of people who applied for uni accomodation, siblings included, and they all usually apply later on. some people i know apply like a week before uni and get a place! lol, uni's reeli do make a fuss over nothing tbh, and besides, there is always private accomodation. i think that is better as my brother had that last year and its like ur own house with, if u plan it right, some mates. ooohhh the possibilities.

i doubt u will gain weight if u go into accomodation, you will probably have quite a lot of work to do and in ur spare time, tho initially u might just sleep, you will probably end up going out and about since u aint at home. that shud be least of ur worries tbh

ive only been coming here a few weeks, and can tell you, making friends is not a problem! if u hav normal social skills, even a bit shy, u will end up seeing someone u like the look of (or vice versa) and you will just start talking and b4 u know it WALA! lol, there are always the loud types who will make friends with you most probably anyway. and then again, u hav seminars, where there are like 20 ppl, and u will be almost forced to get to know everyone there since its so small, for uni anyway, and u can go on from there.

ive not done a uni interview, so dont know what thats like. but i think they give u the benefit of the doubt there anyway, the main thing is ur application i believe.

i reeli shud be doing atleast one of the 4 essays i have been set right now, but im sooo bored!

anywaym, yeah, enjoy college all u can now, trust me, you're going to miss it!
