Got a question for UCAS about Clearing?

Giles Ursell, one of yougo's online UCAS experts, is sparing an hour of his valuable time to be live in the forums to help take the sting out of the UCAS application and Clearing process at 3pm today.

Leave your questions on his wall on the UCAS profile page, or email the editors@yougofurther.co.uk and we'll put them in front of her later on.

Come back at 3pm and find out what Giles has to say. Alternatively, you can make friends with him and chat directly via the UCAS profile wall.

One of the four UCAS experts are live every day on yougo next week at 3pm.

Hi Anani.

This is something which you should discuss with your course tutors when you begin your course. All universities have different procedures in place to follow. They may be able to let you make a straight swap or they may ask you to reapply for the different course. I hope that your university are able to help Anani.

Next Prince is having some problems with his qualifications maybe you can help Giles?

I am filling in my education section on the UCAS application but I don't know exactly the UK grade. I have baccalaureate and a BTS obtained in Benin and here they use the French education system.

Hello Prince. Thanks for your question

You should always check the suitability of your qualifications with the admissions offices at the universities and colleges where you intend to apply before making your application. Each one will decide whether or not your qualifications meet or could meet their entry requirements for the courses you are interested in. When you apply, you should give full details of all your qualifications, including exams you took when you left school, exams you took to get into higher education, vocational exams and any other qualifications or awards. Please do not try to give a UK equivalent. If your first language is not English, you should say whether or not your qualifications were completely or partly assessed in English and enter details for any English language tests you have taken or plan to take.

If you need any further assistance our telephone numbers for international students are +44 (0) 871 468 0 468 and +44 (0) 870 112 2 211

And finally our last question of today comes form cnewcombe who is feeling their student purse strings tightening already...

Do you know anywhere to get text books that may be slightly cheaper ie second hand?

Hey there cnewcombe. Reading lists are so expensive aren't they?

This is probably a question that is best to ask your course tutors when you start university as they are bound to be able to recommend the cheapest place to get your reading materials from. Also some universities will have notice boards so that people can sell their old books that they don't need anymore.

Good luck with it
