Hi Tom. The universities update Track when they have made their decisions so if you are yet to see Track update, give the universities in question a call and gently ask them when they are likely to make their decision. I hope it all works out for you Tom

Thanks John and good luck Tom. Next is Mysticmog...

I have phoned the uni's in the last two weeks but still have not received the clearing passport. I used to live in a boarding school as an international student. What can I do now? I am getting very worried by now.

The AS12 letter seems to be causing more confusion

I have an AS12B letter, however there is no e-mail address given for me to e-mail the requested information?

Hi. If your university has not provided an email address to contact with your acceptance, you will need to call your university and ask them how they wish you to proceed. They may take the telephone call as your acceptance or give you the email address. This has happened because some universities such as City University did not provide the email address that they wished to use before the letters went to print.

Sorry for any confusion this hs caused you but I'm sure your university will be able to help you when you speak to them.

It's a similar question from Swiss Fairy

I keep hearing people talking about some kind of reply slip they had to send in to confirm their place at uni. I got a letter from UCAS telling me I don’t need to take any further action to confirm my place but now I’m worrying that perhaps something else got lost in the post on the way to Switzerland?

Hello Swiss Fairy. There are several different versions of the AS12 letter and each unviersity has to decide whihc one they would like to use. If you read the letter carefully it will tell you what action if any that you need to take. If you are unsure you can give us a call on 0871 468 0 468 to check but it does sound as though you have done everything that you need to do.

Kasia has been back on. is there anything you can say John to reassure her?

I was talking to my firm choice [Glasgow Caledonian] about completing my condition but now as it's a bit late I gave up and told them to withdraw my application. I also emailed my insurance uni [Stirling] to ask if they still have the place for me, they said yes. It was all 4 days ago but my UCAS status hasn't changed yet. I’m panicking now because its only 6 days to 1st of Sept and I don't know when/if I will get my confirmations and the documents I need to send back or something. Also I have to apply for accommodation by 1st of Sept and I already heard there’s no more places in halls. Don’t know what to do. I live in Poland so it'll take some time to get the letters etc. Could you please tell me what can I do?

Hello again Kasia. The universities update Track to withdraw you and they are obviously very busy at the moment which is why they are taking time to release you from your obligation to them. There has been a Bank Holiday weekend in the UK which means that things may be taking the university a little longer. Give Glasgow Caledonian and explain to them that you wish them to release you to attend your insurance choice and ask them if they could please put the decision through ASAP.

If you are concerned about start dates and accomodation then speak to your insurance choice directly as this will be handled completely by yourself and the university. I hope that this has helped to point you in the right direction Kasia.

Yuri seems to be in a similar position

After requesting a release from my insurance university, they have said that they have released me via UCAS however, UCAS track has not updated for a couple of days now and still shows that I am holding an offer from them and therefore cannot proceed with my Clearing application.

Hello Yuri. Again as I've said to Kasia it is the university who need to update Track and therefore if this is not showing on Track then the university has not made an update. Please give the university a call and ask them when it is likely that they will do this. I know its frustrating but universities are exceptionally busy confirming places and therefore it may take them longer to put though releases so please bear with them.
