Great, thanks Geeta.

Second question:

Do I have to send you my application to get a place or will UCAS do it? I don’t understand how Clearing works?

Seems to be plenty of ways for students to get in touch with you!

Next we have a question from a student whose keen to visit you:

Will there be an open day or a chance to visit the Southampton Solent campus if I pick up a place through Clearing as I have not considered you until now?

added
19-08-2008 15:49

Yes, definitely.  We have specific Open days throughout the Clearing period that have started from Sat 16 Aug, Sun 17 Aug and will continue till Wed 20 Aug, Wed 27 Aug and Wed 3 Sep, where the campus is open between 10am-4pm for Clearing applicants to visit, have a guided tour of the campus and see the facilities (student residencies).  Applicants will also be helped with their application enquiries and will have the opportunity to complete and hand in paperwork (halls booking forms, UCAS Clearing Passports etc).

The University will be an Open Campus from Thursday 14 until Fri 22 August (Mon - Fri 0900-1600 for applicants to visit and to make/complete their applications.

Thanks,

Next up:

If you give me a place in clearing and then I get offered another one can I change my mind?

added
19-08-2008 15:58

Yes, you may change your mind but should note the availability of courses in Clearing may be limited so you should take care when accepting an offer to ensure that you have considered it carefully and have decided that this is the course that you want to study.

If you do change your mind you will need to contact the University that you are placed with to ask to be released into Clearing so that you can take up another offer.

That's useful information, thanks Geeta.

Will I have to attend an interview if I apply through clearing?

added
19-08-2008 16:09

Some courses do require an interview, audition or portfolio viewing as part of the admissions process and you will be advised of this at the time of making an application.

Thanks Geeta,

On to living arrangements:

If I go to the Southampton Solent Uni because I don’t get in at my firm, can I still live in halls?
