Ok well our first question is from Zeehan who wants to go to their insurance choice. Is it possible to change this late in the day?

I have now got a unconditional offer from my firm & insurance, is it possible to decline my firm & go for my insurance if so how is it done?

Hi Zeehan

Universities take your agreement with them quite seriously so you will have to call your firm choice and discuss your options with them. It may be worth checking that your insurance course still has places available on it before speaking with your firm. I hope that this helps. Good luck Zeehan.

Thanks Craig. Next up is Kim who's been in touch on behalf of a friend

I’m enquiring on behalf of a friend. She has her A levels already, from last year. However has only decided she would like to go to uni. Is there anything she can do now so late? Like can she apply places via clearing? Would it be easier her setting up a UCAS thing (if she still can) or apply directly to Unis?

Hi Kim.

Your friend can still apply for this year  through the clearing process. She will need to visit http://www.ucas.com/students/apply/ and choose the option to register/log in to use apply 2008. From there she can complete her application and submit it and as soon as she pays the £15 fee, her application will be processed and she will be sent a clearing passport. To get the most out of the clearing process she should start her application ASAP and be prepared to be flexible over where she studies.

She can see the current list of clearing vacancies at http://clearing.ucas.com/cgi-bin/hsrun/clv02/cl_search08/cl_search.hjx;start=cl_search.Hspresearch.run

I hope this helps Kim

Good luck to Kim's friend. Next up is a very anxious applicant

Just wanted to ask, It's been days since the results came out, and University of Cumbria changed my 'contitional' to 'unconditional', but University of Kent hasn't, It's still 'conditional'. Is this normal?

Hello there.

If you have met the conditions of your offer, it is likely that the university are simply busy processing their decisions. If you fully met all the conditions of your offer, and Track has still not updated then it may be worth giving them a call, and giving them a gentle reminder.

If you did not meet their offer and they are yet to make a decision, then it could be that the unviersity are simply waiitng to see if they are in a position to offer you a place.

If you are unsure about anything please feel free to give us a call on 0871 468 0 468 and one of our advisors will be happy to help.

Greycloud has been offered a course change he doesn't want...

My Firm has already sent me an email suggesting a change in course, even though UCAS hasn't recieved any information about them. I’ve decided I definately want to go with my insurance, though - should I try and sort out accomodation now?

Hello Greycloud. If an applicant misses achieving the grades needed to meet the conditions of their offer, some universities may offer a place on a different course. If this is the case then the course change should be recorded via Track. If this has happened, then you will be sent an AS12C letter in the post to which you have 21 dyas to respond. If you do not wish to accept the course change then your insurance becomes your firm. It may be worth giving us a call on 0871 468 0 468 to check that your firm have officially put the offer of a course change through on Track.

With regards to accomodation at your insurance, this is something that you should discuss with the university directly.

I hope this helps Greycloud

It's a similar question from Pie Face

My insurance gave me an unconditional and a few moments ago my firm responded with a "changed course" which isn't what I want to study! I want to decline it but can I still do that even though it is my firm choice! Also there seems to be no opinion in selecting my insurance as the place I want to go to??

Hi there Pie Face. As i have said to Greycloud. If you have been notified of a course change you will be sent an AS12C letter in the post to which you have 21 days to respond. As it is a course change you are quite within your rights to decline the offer and take up your place at your insurance university. Please give us a call on 0871 468 0 468 if you wish to discuss this further.

It's me has been sent a letter and doesn't know to whom they should respond

I’ve got an unconditional place at my university, and recieved a comfirmation letter from UCAS. Now it says "you must send an e-mail to comfirm whether or you intend to take up this place". Who do I email?
