Ok, first up we have a question from JB: I live in london but the exams I’ve taken are marked in the Caribbean. I understand that I have to send these results to kingston uni but they have been delayed for some unannounced reason. I’ve also heard rumors that the results will be cancelled for this period. I’m very anxious because my offer was conditional. what should I do?

Hi JB. If we do not send your results on your behalf check with your school/college as to when you can expect to receive your result and then call your university and let them know what the situation is. I hope this helps and good luck.

Thanks Giles, Next question: I got my A levels this week. I took the CIE A-levels. Will my results be sent directly to my firm and insurance choices?

If you are unsure whether or not we are sending the results to your firm and insurance choices or whether you need to do it yourself give us a call on 0871 468 0 468 and we will advice you how to proceed. Good luck!

Hi there. If you wish to defer your entry the best thing to do would be to speak to your firm choice tomorrow and see how they wish you to proceed. They will be very busy of course so be prepared with your application number etc. Thanks for your question and good luck

Thanks Giles, Can you help Adam his dilemma? I’ve got hull as my insurance choice, but I’ve decided that if I don’t get accepted on results day by Sheffield I REALLY REALLY don’t want to go to hull.

Hi Adam. When you make an insurance choice, you are making a serious agreement with that university to attend there if you don't get in at your firm. However ultimately the decision is yours and it is you that has to study somewhere for three years so if tomorrow you do not get accpeted by your firm choice, and your insurance becomes your unconditional place, you will need to call them and discuss your options. Good luck Adam and I hope that everything works out for you.

Let's hope Adam get's accepted onto his first choice, we'll keep our fingers crossed. Now one for international students who may go through Clearing (sent in by Jellybean): I was told that my clearing passport has been sent but that it would take 2 weeks until I get it. How come? I’m a student from Germany, so I got my results earlier, but the post doesn't take longer than 1-2 days, is there another reason why it takes so long? I’m starting to panic that I won't get a place at an university in the UK, I don't know what clearing's like, are most of the university places gone fast?

If you have been advised that your clearing passport has been sent to you already then we would advise that it could take up to two weeks to reach you.
Don't worry about missing out on vacancies because as from tomorrow you will be able to start applying for clearing vacancies and you don't need the passport to do this. If you are in clearing log into track and you will see your application number. You can use this to call universities and enquire about a vacancy. They will use this number to view your application online and decide whether to make you an offer or not.
You need the physical passport when you decide to accept an offer as you will need to send them your clearing passport. You are free to call us anytime to discuss this. Our number is +44 871 468 0 468 Good luck Jelly Bean!

Next up, a question from Emad:
I would like to join a UK university and study Accounting. I am interested in the Top-Up programs since I hold an Associate Degree. I scored 94 out of 120 in TEOFL iBT in February 2005. What do you recommend for me? What is the best school in UK offering such program in Accounting? What best to do to get in one of the best UK schools?
