Got a question for UCAS? Craig Fish, one of yougo's online UCAS experts, will be live in the forums to help take the sting out of the UCAS application and Clearing process at 3pm. Leave your questions on his wall on the UCAS profile page, or email the editors@yougofurther.co.uk and we'll put them in front of him later on. Come back at 3pm and find out what he has to say. Alternatively, you can make friends with him and chat directly via her profile wall. One of the four UCAS experts are live every day on yougo at 3pm.

Excellent stuff. First I'll hand over to Hannah, a Plymouth University applicant I have applied to Plymouth University Bsc psychology. I received a conditional offer on the basis I achieved my Access certificate. I received my certificate in the post but am unsure whether I need to send it in to the university for confirmation or whether it is done through the examination boards, would I be best in contacting the university or my previous college or would you be able to help me with this enquiry?

Hi Hannah, if you have received your Access Certificate, you will need to forward this directly to Plymouth so that they can receive confirmation of your results and therefore make your offer Unconditional. Thanks Hannah.

One down, plenty to go. Next we hear from Alison I have replied to my offers and have put one of my conditional offers as my firm acceptance. I have also received my exam results and told the university what they are. They assured me about 2 weeks ago that they would get back to me. I was just wondering if there is a certain date that they must get back to me by?

Afternoon Alison, the University you have accepted as your Firm choice does not have a specific date when they have to confirm your place by, or get back to you. Although you have received your results, I do advise you contact them directly and ask them where to send your results, and then forward these on to the University. If you have already done this, then I do advise you contact them directly as they may be able to tell you when your place will be confirmed, or when they will be making your offer Unconditional. Thanks Alison and hope this helps.

Taylor did not quite get the news she was hoping for but her firm choice are still not decided. Is this a case of no news is good news? I never met my conditions for Napier University however; my tracking status has not changed from conditional to declined or anything. I also received an email from them yesterday saying they would make a decision on my application by this afternoon but I’ve not heard anything since and like I said the UCAS site has not changed. Does this mean I’ve been declined?

Hello Taylor, although the University have told you and emailed you saying they will make a decision on your application, it is just up to Napier when they will do this. Unfortunately, I am unable to tell you whether you have been declined or accepted for that place if the status of your application has not changed. It may be worth your while giving them another call to see when this decision will be made. The number for the admissions office at Napier is 08452 60 60 40. Hope this helps Taylor and thanks for your query.

Florence is hoping to become a midwife but has only applied to one institution, what happens if things don't go according to plan? I applied to do midwifery at Canterbury and even though they only ask for a minimum of 160 points am a bit concerned I might not get that, and it’s the only uni I have. If I don’t get that 160, does that mean I wont be able to go uni this year?

Hi Florence, if you do not receive the required results for your institution, it does not mean you can not go to University this year. It sounds like you only made one choice on your form; therefore you will have only initially paid £5. You would have to pay a further £10 to enter clearing as the cost for clearing is £15. Once you have made this payment, you will receive a clearing number and you can contact other Universities, give them this number and they can decide whether they want to make you an offer or not. Thanks Florence.

And remember that if you're not sure what to do when you get your results next week then you can talk to UCAS all day on yougo. Take a look here for further info http://www.yougofurther.co.uk/articles/network/whats_on/article/UCAS-web-chat-_2800_14th_2900_/default.aspx Jennifer is also waiting on confirmation I got my results in July as I attended college and I applied to university to progress into the course I did in college and I received a conditional. As yet my UCAS Track has not been updated. Do I wait until 14th August when everyone’s results are out... or do I phone the university and tell them that I passed?

Hello Jennifer, if you have received your results already, I advise you contact your Firm choice of University, and ask them whether you need to forward them direct to the University or whether they have received these and are just waiting to update the status of your record on their system. If you do call them, ask where to send these, and forward them on. Otherwise, just wait until results day on the 14th, and your Track record should be updated, as the University will have finalised your offers. Hope this helps Jennifer.
