Well first up is a question from Kim
I was wondering how easy it is to change degrees once at a university? I love the university I have chosen as my firm, but after not making the grades last year, I’m worried about doing the same this year after a year out and all this effort. If I didn’t make the grades I’m thinking about going to this university via clearing and trying to swap to my degree (I know last year they had 6 spaces spare in the end, and are admitting more students this year, so I like to think its likely they have a space free) Or should I give up and go to my insurance where I really don’t want to go to.

Brilliant. Next is Victoria asks If my insurance offer has been updated as unconditional but my firm offer is still currently conditional, does that mean that I haven't got the required grades for my firm choice or has it not been updated completely yet?

Hi Victoria, Thanks for your query. It sounds like your firm choice is still considering your application and hasn’t decided yet. Please try not to worry because some universities can take longer to put through decisions than others as it is a busy time. You are doing the right thing by checking Track as when their decision has been made this will be displayed for you immediately. If you wish to find out when their final decision is likely to be made, then please feel free to contact the university directly as they will be able to supply further advice. I hope this helps Victoria and I wish you all the best with your application.

TRACK is operating at funny times at the moment. Please could you shed some light on it for Wal?
At what time will TRACK be on today so that I can update my information and make my choices. UCAS told me I have until 8 August to do that but the TRACK has not allowed me to do so until now

Sabiha says I just wanted to know if you get a letter from the university saying that they have accepted you and you have an unconditional offer so that you can get the British visa does that really mean that I’ve got the uni even though the ucas website doesn't say unconditional it says conditional.. I’m really confused.. because if the embassy gives me visa for the course how can it be that later the uni rejects me?

Hello Sabiha, Please don’t worry, this is a question we are often asked so I will try and clarify this for you. If your offer is conditional this means that your offer is subject to you meeting the conditions set by the university. We will have to wait to hear from the University/College you have accepted to advise us of their final decision. If you do meet the conditions then they will inform us and notify us that your offer is Uncondtitional and UCAS will then send the confirmation letter to you. This information will also be updated on the UCAS Track service for you. If however you don’t meet the conditions set out then the Institutions may reject the application so you can then enter clearing. If you wish to check or discuss the conditions of the offer you have received or wish to check when the university will make their decision it is advisable to call them directly for more information. If you require any further advice please call the UCAS Customer Service Unit and we will be happy to help. The telephone number is 0871 468 0468. Thanks again Sabiha.

Christine is readying herself for clearing and needs a bit of help I get 5 point less then offers that I received (all Universities asked me the same grade). My first choice said me to send the results and waiting. Probably, they don't admit me. Do I have to send my results to second choice too?If yes, before or after that I know if my first choice will admit me? When you send a Clearing Passport? When and Where I have to pay?

Hello Christine, Thanks for your questions. In response to your first query I recommend that you contact your firm university first to discuss your results and whether they could still be able to offer you a place. When they do make their decision this will be updated on track for you. It is important that you do send the results of your qualification to your insurance chocie as well as they will need this information to make their final decision. This is necessary as if you don’t meet the requirements of your firm choice you will automatically default to the insurance choice if you meet their conditions. If you are in a situation where you have been unsuccessful with both of your choices then you will be entered into clearing automatically and your clearing passport will be posted to you. Please note if you have already paid the £15 application fee then you are not required to pay UCAS anything further. I hope this helps Christine, however if you need any further advice please call the UCAS Customer Service Unit on 0871 468 0468 and we will be happy to assist you.

Broxi got Scottish Highers results yesterday and is panicking I needed a B in AH maths to get into strathclyde uni. This was my firm offer. My insurance offer was stirling uni, it was an unconditional offer. My UCAS track hasnt been updated yet...Do I need to send my results to strathclyde/stirling or has UCAS done this? Panicking slightly as nothing has changed with my choices.
