I think people should be allowed to join before they apply. A lot of the first years at my college were asking me for advice on where to go when what they needed was to talk to people currently doing the course. I reccomended yougofurther but they can't join till they have an application number which just seems so strange! They are all researching what universities to apply for but talk to people already there which would surely help them a lot more than a prospectus.

Thanks for the feedback. This is something which will happen in the next few months. In the meantime if you want to encourage younger students or help them you can reccomend the ucascard site www.ucas.com/ucascard which has forums very similar to yougo.
If you have any more ideas or suggestions or want to get even more involved with the site you can contact me via my profile page.

I think you go further is a gr8 idea, but i have to object to what slightlyodd said bout other users using you go further. i lk the idea that people can only contact me if they have a ucas number and are goin through the same process. If anyone could join like other networkin sites I would worry for saftey.

I agree with Hannah, i'd worry for safety also. However you could have a sub-forum for everyone, where anyone thinking of applying can get feedback from students at uni/applying, but keep the rest of yougo un-altered and unseen by members not at uni/applying. So they have limited access in short.

just a minor thing but been able to go the last page of a thread when you click on it from the main topic opposed to been taken to the first page then having to go to the last.

Mike Roff wrote the following message...just a minor thing but been able to go the last page of a thread when you click on it from the main topic opposed to been taken to the first page then having to go to the last. yeah but then again the first post lets you know what the thread is about... then you would have to go back to the first page then back... thats twice the effort in my oppinion =]

but for those threads you keep posting on and already know the stuff in it it gets bit tiring lol they could also do it so the original post could appear at the top of the screen still if they really wanted. While i like the myspace idea i think that would be lot of coding and would probably put up their costs quite a bit lol :-p theres sites such as myspace and facebook already they trying to be for uni students to meet people and they can add them to facebook afterwards n what not.
