Not booked your summer holiday yet? There are still bargains to be found out there. The cheapest destinations in Europe and around are the following countries:
- Bulgaria
- Morocco
- Tunisia
- Croatia
- North Eastern Spain
If you’re looking to go away over summer it is of course best to avoid the school summer holidays which start around the 20 July and end around the 5 September. Though if you do choose one of the above countries during this period it is possible to find a bargain. Here is the best way to find a bargain…
- Search the top comparison engines like directholidays.co.uk and teletextholidays.co.uk
- Go direct to a travel agent to see if they can beat one of the deals that you have found on the Internet.
The travel industry is very competitive and high streets are often missing out on internet bookings but this helps the consumer quite a lot. It means you can haggle your price down from your original quote, sometimes saving up to £100 per person.
Another key factor in what your holiday is going to cost is the currency of the country you are going to. Any country with the Euro is going to be much more expensive because the Pound has devalued quite a bit against the Euro recently. This makes is much cheaper to go to places like Bulgaria or North Africa.
Another decision to make is whether to go self-catering, half board or all-inclusive. All-inclusive will be cheaper if you want to drink loads but you’ll spend a great deal of your time in the hotel. Self-catering is likely to be cheaper if you don’t want to drink so much and don’t mind making cheap little means like bread and cheese. Whatever you decide, enjoy your holiday and remember to take your passport to the airport!
